1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal information is BullSplit, reachable at support@bullsplit.in. BullSplit operates the website, job portal, CV builder, ATS checker, and recruiter tools collectively referred to as the “Platform.”

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

a) Account & Identity Data

• Name, email address, profile picture — collected via Google OAuth when you sign in;
• Google Account ID (used to identify your account internally);
• Phone number and bio — if voluntarily provided in your profile.

b) Role & Preference Data

• Your selected role (Job Seeker or Recruiter) and account preferences;
• Subscription status (free, premium, or recruiter premium) and payment history;
• Saved jobs, applied jobs, and notification settings.

c) Payment Data

• Payment transaction IDs, order IDs, and timestamps — received from Razorpay;
• Plan purchased and amount paid;
• We do not store card numbers, UPI IDs, net banking credentials, or any sensitive payment instrument data. All such data is handled exclusively by Razorpay.

3. CV & Resume Data

When you use the BullSplit CV Builder, we collect and store:

• Personal details: name, title, email, phone, location, summary;
• Work experience: job titles, companies, dates, descriptions;
• Education: degrees, institutions, graduation years;
• Skills, certifications, languages, projects, and hobbies;
• Your selected CV template and colour preferences.

CV data is stored in our database and may be:

• Displayed to you in the CV builder and preview;
• Exported as a PDF on your request;
• Shared via a public link if you generate one (accessible to anyone with the URL);
• Used for ATS scoring against job descriptions you provide;
• Reviewed by recruiters if you have applied to their jobs on the Platform.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of information in your CV. BullSplit does not verify CV content.

4. Recruiter & Company Data

When you register as a recruiter and create a company profile, we collect:

• Company name, industry, size, tagline, description, and website URL;
• Company logo URL and headquarters location;
• Contact phone number;
• Job posting details including title, description, salary, skills, and application settings;
• Applicant tracking actions (e.g., status updates on applications).

Company profile information that you mark as public will be visible to any visitor of your company page at /company/[your-slug].

5. Usage & Analytics Data

We collect data about how you interact with the Platform, including:

• Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Platform;
• Search queries entered, jobs viewed, and categories browsed;
• Job application actions (applied, saved, viewed);
• CV templates selected and ATS analyses run;
• Error logs and performance data to improve the Platform.

This data is collected automatically when you use the Platform and is used to improve user experience, identify bugs, and understand usage patterns.

6. Device, Browser & IP Data

When you visit the Platform, our servers automatically record:

• Your IP address (approximate geolocation may be derived from this);
• Browser type and version;
• Operating system and device type (mobile, desktop, tablet);
• Referring URL (the website you came from);
• Date, time, and duration of your visit;
• HTTP request data and response codes.

This data is used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics. We do not use IP addresses to personally identify individuals except where required by law or to investigate suspected fraud.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

• Maintain your login session;
• Remember your preferences (e.g., cookie consent status);
• Deliver and optimise advertising via Google AdSense;
• Track usage patterns via Google Analytics;
• Prevent fraud and abuse.

8. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data for the following purposes:

• Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, display jobs, process applications, and provide CV and ATS tools;
• Payment Processing: To process payments through Razorpay and maintain transaction records;
• Matching & Recommendations: To show you relevant job listings, suggest improvements to your CV, and personalise your experience;
• Marketing & Communications: To send transactional emails, job alerts, and promotional communications (with your consent where required);
• Analytics & Improvement: To understand how users interact with the Platform and improve its features and performance;
• Advertising: To serve personalised and contextual advertisements through Google AdSense and similar networks;
• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, respond to legal requests, and enforce our Terms;
• Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.

By using the Platform, you agree that BullSplit may use your submitted information for job recommendations, marketing, analytics, and service improvements.

9. Data Sharing Policy

BullSplit does not sell your personal data. However, we may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Recruiters: When you apply for a job, your name, email, CV, and cover letter are shared with the recruiter who posted that job;
• Public Company Profile: Recruiter company data is publicly visible on the Platform;
• Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the Platform (e.g., hosting, email, analytics, payment processing) under contractual data processing agreements;
• Business Partners & Affiliates: We may share aggregated or anonymised data with business partners and affiliates for research, analytics, or product improvement purposes;
• Hiring Partners & Verification Agencies: Where applicable, contact details and profile information may be shared with verified third-party hiring partners, job aggregators, or background verification agencies who partner with BullSplit;
• Advertisers: Aggregated and anonymised usage data may be shared with advertisers for campaign measurement and targeting — we do not share individually identifiable information with advertisers without your explicit consent;
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BullSplit, its users, or the public.

10. Third-Party Analytics & Tools

We use the following third-party tools that may collect data about your usage:

• Google Analytics: Collects anonymised usage data, page views, session duration, and geographic data. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You may opt out via Google Analytics Opt-out;
• Google OAuth: Used for authentication. Google collects data as per its own privacy policy when you sign in;
• Razorpay: Handles payment processing. Governed by Razorpay’s Privacy Policy.

11. Google AdSense & Ad Networks

The Platform may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other advertising networks. These networks may:

• Use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history;
• Collect data about your interactions with advertisements;
• Use your approximate geographic location to show relevant ads;
• Share data with Google’s advertising partners for campaign measurement.

12. User Consent

By registering on the Platform (via Google OAuth) and accepting our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, you consent to:

• Collection and processing of your personal data as described in this Policy;
• Receipt of transactional and service communications;
• Use of your data for service improvement, analytics, and personalisation;
• Sharing of your data as described in Section 9.

Where specific consent is required (e.g., for marketing emails), we will obtain it separately and you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.

13. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specific retention periods:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account or request deletion;
• CV data: Retained for the duration of your account;
• Job applications: Retained for 12 months after the application date, then anonymised;
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations;
• Usage logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes;
• Deleted account data: Removed within 30 days of deletion request, except where retention is required by law.

14. Data Security

BullSplit implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit;
• Secure database storage with access controls;
• Regular security monitoring and vulnerability assessments;
• Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

15. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to retention obligations);
• Right to Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format;
• Right to Object: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes;
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@bullsplit.in with the subject line “Data Rights Request”. We will respond within 30 days.

16. Account Deletion Request

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. When you delete your account:

• Your profile, CVs, and personal data are permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days;
• Job applications you submitted may be retained in anonymised form for recruiter records;
• Payment transaction records are retained for legal compliance (7 years);
• Cached copies may persist in backups for up to 90 days;
• Active premium subscriptions are cancelled without refund.

If you are unable to access your account to initiate deletion, email support@bullsplit.in from your registered email address with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”

17. International Data Transfers

BullSplit primarily stores and processes data in India. However, some of our third-party service providers (such as Google and Razorpay) may process data in other countries. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

We ensure that any such transfers are conducted with appropriate safeguards, including contractual protections and adherence to applicable data protection standards.

18. Children’s & Student Privacy

The Platform is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@bullsplit.in and we will delete such information promptly.

Users between 13 and 17 years may browse the Platform in a limited capacity. They must not register an account, submit personal data, or make payments without verified parental consent.

Student accounts (users who identify as students using the Platform to find student or part-time jobs) are subject to the same privacy protections as all other users. No additional data is collected specifically due to student status.

19. Public Profile Visibility

Certain information may be publicly visible on the Platform:

• Job Seekers: Your CV is visible only to you unless you share the public link. Your name appears in job applications visible to the recruiter for that job;
• Recruiters: Your company profile page (including company name, logo, description, and active job listings) is publicly accessible at /company/[your-slug]. Your personal name and email are not publicly displayed;
• CV Public Links: If you generate a shareable CV link, it is accessible to anyone with the URL. Do not include sensitive personal information (Aadhaar, PAN, banking details) in your CV.

20. Communication Consent — Email, SMS & WhatsApp

By registering on the Platform, you consent to receiving communications from BullSplit via email and other channels for service-related purposes. Where you provide a phone number, you consent to being contacted via SMS or WhatsApp for important account updates and, if opted in, job alerts.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by:

• Clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any marketing email;
• Replying “STOP” to any SMS;
• Contacting us at support@bullsplit.in.

Opting out of marketing communications will not affect receipt of important transactional or account-related notifications.

21. Recruiter Verification Data

When recruiters apply for a verification badge or enhanced listing, BullSplit may collect additional data such as business registration numbers, GST details, or documentation. This data is:

• Used solely for the purpose of verifying your business identity;
• Reviewed by authorised BullSplit staff only;
• Not shared publicly or with other users except as an aggregated “Verified” status indicator.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
